This briefing note examines how agricultural commodity supply chains (palm oil, soya, coffee, beef etc) can we decoupled from deforestation in Amazonia.
Written by the Global Canopy Programme (GCP) and the Stockholm Environment Institute (SEI) as part of GCP's Amazonia Security Agenda project, the publication details how there is a need to increase supply chain transparency in production landscapes and subsequently link these supply chain actors to Amazonia in order to improve sustainable commodity supply chain in the region.
The document also goes on to address how it is vital that effective coalitions of supply chain actors work alongside regional and national governments to accelerate this transition to sustainable development.
