The Cerrado in Brazil is recognized as the world’s most biodiverse savannah. But it is being lost at an alarming rate as soy production increases. This briefing, published jointly with CDP, explores the opportunities to improve soy production practices in the Cerrado to reduce deforestation and safeguard its remaining vegetation.
It urges the companies involved in sourcing soy from the Cerrado to work with their suppliers to create the opportunities to deliver a more sustainable business model. Companies should assess their supply chains, make a public commitment to combat deforestation, and act on those commitments.
