Luis Meneses

Luis Meneses is Brazil Programme Director, based in Rio de Janeiro to expand Global Canopy’s work in the country and in Latin America.

Passionate about forests and people, he has lived and worked for 17 years in the Amazon, engaged with environmental conservation, sustainable development and climate change. He has collaborated with many organizations such as WWF-Brasil (Worldwide Fund for Nature), IUCN (International Union for Conservation of Nature), FSC (Forest Stewardship Council), Governor’s Climate Forest Initiative, Amazon Network Group (GTA), Acre State Government and FUNBIO (Brazil Biodiversity National Fund) over the last 25 years. Luis holds a degree in Agronomy Engineering from the University of São Paulo and a masters degree in Agroforestry at CATIE, Costa Rica.
