The organisation encompasses all of the charitable giving for Michael Bloomberg, working every day to change people's lives in meaningful ways. Bloomberg Philanthropies works primarily to advance five areas globally: the arts, education, the environment, government innovation and public health. 


  • Cecil Pilkington Charitable Trust

    Cecil Pilkington Charitable Trust, located in Liverpool, aids charitable organisations within the education, environment, advancement of health, arts, and prevention of poverty sectors.

  • CHK Charities Limited

    CHK charities Limited is exclusively a grant-making charity, and originates from the wish of Sir Cyril Kleinwort and his family. The charity's objectives are to promote and support charitable activities, decided on by the directors, with their time and resources.


  • Climate and Development Knowledge Network

    The Climate and Development Knowledge Network supports decision-makers in designing and delivering climate compatible development. We do this by combining research, advisory services and knowledge management in support of locally owned and managed policy processes. We work in partnership with decision-makers in the public, private and non-governmental sectors nationally, regionally and globally. We hold strongly to the ideals of human development and environmental sustainability.


  • European Forest Institute

    The European Forest Institute (EFI) is an international organization established by European States. EFI conducts research and provides policy support on issues related to forests, with the ultimate goal of living in a world where sustainablilty of societies and forests is secured. 


  • German Society for International Cooperation (GIZ)

    GIZ offers solutions to complex challenges. They are a proficient service provider and assist the German Government in achieving its objectives in the field of international cooperation. GIZ offers demand-driven, tailor-made and successful services for sustainable development.


  • Gordon and Betty Moore Foundation

    The Gordon and Betty Moore Foundation believe in bold ideas that create enduring impact in the areas of environmental conservation, patient care and science. Gordon and Betty Moore established the foundation to create this change around the world and at home in the San Francisco Bay Area.



  • International Climate Initiative (IKI), German Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety (BMUB)

    The International Climate Initiative (IKI) of the Federal Ministry for the Environment, Natural Conservation, Building and Nuclear Safety (BMUB) finances climate and biodiversity projects in developing and newly industrialising countries, as well as countries in transition. The Initiative places clear emphasis on climate change mitigation, adaption to the impacts of climate change and the protection of biological diversity.


  • International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN)

    IUCN is the worlds largest global environmental network, with over 1,200 organisations and approximately 10,000 volunteers in more than 160 countries. This network helps to find resolutions to critical environmental and development challenges. 

    IUCN supports scientific research and globally manages field projects. It develops and implements policy and laws through bringing different organisations, companies and communities together. 


  • J S F Pollitzer Charitable Settlement

    J S F Pollitzer Charitable Settlement is located in Taunton, Somerset. This charity helps young people with disabilities, the prevention of poverty, famine relief, accommodation, environment, conservation and other charitable purposes.

  • Millichope Foundation

    Millichope Foundation operates in Shropshire and provides services to charitable organisations in the arts, culture, conservation, and heritage divisions, along with charities based in the county of Shropshire.

  • Norwegian Agency for Development Cooperation

    The Norwegian Agency for Development Cooperation (NORAD) is a directorate under the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. In matter regarding Norway’s International Climate and Forest Initiative (NICFI), Norad reports to the Norwegian Ministry of Climate and Environment.

    Norad’s functions are laid down in the agency’s terms of references and annual letters of allocation issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Climate and Environment.


  • The Ernest Kleinwort Charitable Trust

    The Ernest Kleinwort Charitable Trust was founded to devote time and resources to charitable activities, specifically wildlife and environmental conservation, charities located in the family's home county of Sussex and family planning charities.


  • The Lindeth Charitable Trust

    The Lindeth Charitable Trust is a grant making charity that aims to aid mankind/the general public.

  • The Rufford Foundation

    The Rufford Foundation is a UK based charity, which offers small grants for nature conservation projects in the developing world. Since the initiation of the Rufford Foundation they have supported over 1500 projects in 122 different countries.

    The Tedworth Charitable Trust offers grants in the areas of parenting, family welfare, child development, and arts and environment including sustainable living, organic gardening and rural arts. 

  • U.S. Forest Service

    U.S. Forest Service, an agency of the U.S. Department of Agriculture, supervises 154 national forests and 20 grasslands in 44 states and Puerto Rico. The agency's main objective is to sustain the productivity, health and diversity of forests and grasslands to protect the needs of present and future generations. 


  • UK Department for International Development

    The Department for International Development (DFID) leads the UK’s work to end extreme poverty. DFID is ending the need for aid by creating jobs, unlocking the potential of girls and women and helping to save lives when humanitarian emergencies hit.


  • United Nations Environment Programme Finance Initiative

    United Nations Environment Programme Finance Initiative (UNEP FI) is a global partnership between UNEP and the global financial sector. UNEP FI's motto is 'Changing finance, financing change', supporting its objective to bring about systemic change in finance to support a sustainable world.


  • Waterloo Foundation

    The Waterloo Foundation (TWF) is an independent grant-making Foundation. The Foundation is most interested in projects that help globally, with particular focus on the disparity of opportunities, wealth and the unsustainable use of the world’s natural resources.


  • Winton Charitable Foundation

    David Harding, the founder of the Winton Charitable Foundation, seeks to support and encourage scientific education and research. Furthermore, David is passionate about encouraging a greater awareness amongst the public of scientific knowledge and achievements. 


  • WWF U.S.

    WWF seeks to practise conservation that is humane in the broadest sense. The strengths of WWF's amazing, dedicated and passionate people have created some of the planets greatest conservation victories. Additionally, 84% of WWF's spending is directed to worldwide conservation activities.
