How we are funded

Earned Income

Global Canopy on occasion carries out analysis and data collection work commissioned by other entities. This work remains entirely independent in its approach, execution and conclusions.

Global Canopy recently launched GCI, a wholly-owned subsidiary through which we are able to make access to some types of data available to paid subscribers. We see this activity as a vital part of our future funding; however, we remain committed to the principle of open access to our core data available through various platforms. The quality of our open access data is paramount and is not determined by how it is funded. For more information on Forest IQ please click here.
