Nicola Wilson

Nicola is a Data Researcher in the Nature-related Finance team. She is involved in the development of the EU Dependency Dashboard which provides essential data on EU countries’ nature-related economic risks.

Before joining Global Canopy in 2025, Nicola was undertaking a PhD at Exeter University exploring how data-driven methods can help upscale and finance blue carbon systems. Prior to this, she spent over a decade working in environmental risk management including developing adaptation strategies, policy research and evaluations.

Nicola holds a BSc (Hons) in Geography with Oceanography, a European MSc in Water and Coastal Management and a PhD in Environmental Intelligence.

Nicola loves exploring and being outdoors, usually on her bike or in her electric campervan!
