ENCORE

ENCORE is a unique data initiative developed by Global Canopy in partnership with UNEP Finance Initiative (UNEP FI) and UNEP’s World Conservation Monitoring Centre (UNEP-WCMC), through the Natural Capital Finance Alliance. The ENCORE tool maps the impacts and dependencies of different economic sectors on nature enabling financial institutions to identify and assess the nature-based risks to the businesses in their portfolios.

Deforestation-free Transition (DEFT) Pathway

Deforestation-free Transition (DEFT) Pathway supports financial institutions to better engage with companies on deforestation. It categorises companies according to their level of progress and highlights priority and timebound next actions. The Pathway synthesises existing frameworks, guidance and metrics into practical, actionable next steps and aligns with climate and nature transition plans.

The Little Book of Nature Business

Global Canopy’s Little Book series makes complex issues at the interface between nature and finance easier to understand, through incisive publications designed for the finance sector, real economy corporates and policymakers.

The next edition in the series will be The Little Book of Nature Business, coming in 2025. It will present a new framework for nature business that supports the global transition toward a nature-positive economy. The book will demonstrate how the range of opportunities for investment goes far beyond investors’ current focus on regenerative agriculture and reforestation.
