Darren leads on Global Canopy’s messaging and events work building Global Canopy’s profile with financial institutions, companies, policy makers and the general public. He’s spent the last 5 years working in the environmental space ensuring that tackling nature loss and deforestation is at the heart of climate messaging.

A journalist by trade, before joining Global Canopy Darren spent 20 years making radio programmes and producing content for commercial, national and international news providers. Most recently he was the Assistant Editor of the award winning Emma Barnett Show on BBC Radio 5 Live. Passionate about telling stories he’s produced interviews with world leaders, Prime Ministers, royalty and activists across the globe. He’s now using his journalism skills to highlight the issues around deforestation and biodiversity loss.

In his spare time Darren can be found walking across the Lancashire hills, brewing his own beer and watching Derby County play football.
