Raisa Pina

Raisa is Global Canopy’s Researcher, supporting the teams in the UK and Brazil. She joined the organisation in March 2024 as Claudia Comberti Researcher role: Brazil and COP30.

She is a PhD candidate in Anthropology at the University of Brasília, Brazil, former visiting researcher at the University of Oxford and King’s College London. In her personal investigation, Raisa explores the Brazilian meat industry and its interactions with the processes of globalisation.

Before joining Global Canopy, Raisa worked closely with local communities and indigenous peoples in Brazil, looking for solutions to stop deforestation and mitigate climate change.

Today, she is currently based in Oxford, UK, with her husband and their two lovely cats.
