David Tate

Dave is a Data Engineer at Global Canopy, where his role is to maintain and upgrade the database and associated infrastructure, improving data access and system reliability.

Before joining Global Canopy, David held several data engineering roles across Fintech and Ecommerce, before following an MSc in Data Science and AI with an aim to moving into climate/sustainability. Prior to transitioning into tech, they worked as a professional chef for a number of years and also hold an undergraduate degree in Music.

Outside of work, they’re passionate about playing guitar, rock climbing, and microcamping.
