Maria del Carmen Redondo

Mari has a diverse background in nature and climate, with a focus on science communication. She leads on content development on nature finance topics, including the application of TNFD, case studies on nature-related opportunities, and examples that build the business case for nature.

Previous to Global Canopy, she worked on knowledge exchange and capability building for the Centre for Climate Engagement in Cambridge (UK). She pairs this strategic expertise with global field experience, including land and ocean assessment and remediation with ERM in Mexico, leading international air pollution research in Argentina and the UK, and supporting biodiversity conservation projects in the Galapagos and the Ecuadorian Amazon.

She holds a PhD in Nature-based Solutions from the University of Sheffield and an MSc in Applied Ecology from three universities of the Erasmus Mundus Programme.

Mari also dedicates her time to nature art, yoga and mindfulness projects.
